NOTES:

From 1988 until his death in 2010, "Yankee's Legend" Freddy Schuman was the unofficial Booster of the New York Yankees. Known as Freddy Sez to Yankee fans, Schuman would roam around the stadium with a spoon in one hand and a metal frying pan with a four leaf clover in the middle reading: “Brings ‘em luck.” The pan attached to a wooden stick would have a sign on the other end. The "booster sign" made with brilliant colored hand painted letters would read "Freddy Sez" at the top. The rest of the sign would have a message to Yankee Fans such as; "Scream-Whistle Keep Up The Noise! It Helps The Yanks!," - "Yankee Fans Lets Go Wild!" or "Yankee Stadium Gave Birth To Champions!"

The sounds of the spoon clanging against the pan could be heard at every Yankees home games. The sound was heard on radio and TV broadcasts as Freddy traveled from deck to deck, section by section, allowing fans to hit the pan with the spoon.

The Freddy "Sez" Newsletter was first published in 1996, as this black & white tri-fold flyer was. "Published Infrequently," this * Special Issue * pictures a 71 year old Freddy holding up a sign that Reads; "Yankees, Here's Wishing You A Good Road Trip" The back pictures Freddy & Fans near the "Big Bat Stack" holding a Freddy "Sez" sign that reads "Don't Do it.... George, Stay In The Bronx" Freddy's battle cry to keep the Yankees in the Bronx.

Inside features "It's A Homer !" newsletter by Freddy "Sez" A great article with a welcome aboard Cecil Fielder, rooting on the Yankees and telling the rookie Derek Jeter he's doing great! He also asks the question "Are you taking lessons from "Holy Cow" Phil Rizzuto?" The last page pictures Freddy's Apartment& workroom, with the wall covered with Freddy "Sez" posters. The newsletter closes with the words to "Freddy and Fans at Yankee Stadium" a Song by Freddy.
