Williams as their new full-time
consultant on sporting goods. As a
promotion, Sears offered a copy of
"Batting Tips From Ted,"
a Ted Williams booklet on how to
be a better hitter, Free to the first
150 people asking to see the Ted
Williams baseball glove. Also Free,
with any purchase of any Ted Williams
baseball glove, a
45 RPM record, "Tips
On How To Become A Better Hitter,"
narrated by Ted Williams.
The 20 page booklet features
a black & white cover photo of Ted
Williams batting. The inside features; a bio of Ted, tips
(with diagrams) on batting stances,
swing and “mental equipment,” and the
new line of Ted Williams
Approved Baseball equipment. Last page
features an ad for the 20 minute 16mm
film Sound-Color Motion Picture;
"Batting With Ted Williams
"available for free showings to
interested groups". The film could
also be ordered from Associated Films
Inc. for $419.
