NOTES:

A song written in 1908 by Jack Norworth and Albert Von Tilzer, "Take Me out to the Ball Game" became the official anthem of baseball. It is the third-most frequently heard song in America, behind the national anthem and Happy Birthday. Norworth who had never been to a ball game, wrote the lyrics when he passed the Polo Grounds on an elevated train and saw a sign that read “Baseball Today.”

Marking the 100th anniversary of the song, Hal Leonard Corp., published "Take Me Out To The Ball Game" sheet music in 2008. Available separately: SATB, SAB, 2-Part, ShowTrax CD. Arranged by John Leavitt, the songs lyrics are of the original 1908 version, about Katie Casey. Jack Norworth later wrote different verses for the song in 1927, with "Nelly Kelly" replacing "Katie Casey."

The cover of the 13 page sheet, depicts Katie Casey, decked out in early twentieth century garb, discussing plans to go to the ball game with "her young beau." Pages 2 through 8, "Take me Out To The Ball Game For Two Part, Piano arrangement, with String Bass, and Percussion (Woodblock, Triangle, Snare Drum, Whoopie Whistle) Parts found on pages 10 through 13.

Hal Leonard started as a small dance band to the World's Largest Source for Music Publications. The company Hal Leonard was founded in 1947, after the Hal Leonard Band broke up. Today, Hal Leonard is the world's largest print music publisher, with the #1 methods for learning guitar, piano, band, orchestra, plus publications for learning virtually every instrument imaginable.

In 2016, the Milwaukee-based Hal Leonard Corp., acquired the Mequon-based Schaum Publications. Schaum Publications, published "Take Me Out To The Ball Game" sheet in 1984, which featured an artistic rendition on the cover, of a Babe Ruth photograph, taken in 1918, when he played for the Boston Red Sox. At the time Hal Leonard distributed their sheet music.
