Illinois. The offer expired on June 15,
1963, and was good only in continental

Baseball Tips From The Stars was
Narrated By Lou Boudreau, who is
pictured on the back with a short bio.
The set of three records with "Helpful
Hints in the Stars Own Voices"
included: No 1- "How To Bat" with Stan
Musial, Ernie Banks, Duke Snider and
Ken Boyer, No 2- "How To Pitch" with
Warren Spahn, Joey Jay, Johnny Podres,

features Interviews with the
ballplayers, recorded live at Major
League parks during batting and
fielding practice.
The front of the paper dust jacket pictures head shots of the four
featured ballplayers for each record,
their facsimile autographs below, "With
Lou Boudreau" facsimile signature at
the bottom. The back of the dust jacket
has quick tips by each player, and a
special feature, "Take this Record
Jacket to the Ballpark! Ask your
favorite stars to give you their
autographs in the spaces provided
below" Created, Produced, and a 1962
copyright by Sonic Arts Inc., the
company and 8 ballplayers were involved
in a lawsuit.
Sports Champions, Inc. the Record distribution firm filled a breach of
contract suit against Sonic arts, Mars
Candy, and eight of the twelve ball
players featured on the records. Ernie
Banks, Ken Boyer, Don Drysdale, Duke
Snider, Willie Mays, Warren Spahn, Gil
Hodges, and Don Hoak. The firm was
seeking an injunction in federal court,
to prevent Sonic Arts, Mars and the
ballplayers from producing the records
and offering them to the public. Sports
Champions alleged that it entered into
an exclusive contact with the
ballplayers in 1960 to produce and
distribute an LP Record titled "How To
Play Baseball"
The lawsuit was resolved in court as evident by the release of the three
records. Interesting to note that all
12 ballplayers featured on the records
are of the National League. The
Only American Leaguer is the narrator,
Lou Boudreau.
