"Finley's
Heroes" - Narrated by The Oakland
Athletics broadcaster Monte Moore, this
Fleetwood album features all the
exciting play-by-play of the Oakland As
1972 championship season, including the
playoffs and world series. The
Athletics went on to beat the
Cincinnati Reds in the 1972 World
Series 4 games to three. This was the
first title of winning three straight
World Series from 1972 to 1974.
The cover art done by Dick Hamilton depicts Manager Dick Williams and his
shaggy hair, bold mustached players in
their eye-catching uniforms. The
Swingin' A's acquired a reputation as
one of the most colorful teams in
baseball history. The back cover
features the Oakland A.s team photo at
the top, and the bottom pictures
President Charles O. Finley, Manager
Dick Williams, and Announcer Monte
More. Audio tapes were provided
courtesy of KEEN radio and KGO-TV. The
sports album was produced by the
Fleetwood Recording Company Inc.
Revere, Massachusetts, 02151.
