Established in 1958, Fleetwood began recording Sports Albums in 1967. The
first "Havlicek Stole The Ball"
featuring highlights of the Boston
Celtic Championship Play-offs from 1956
to 1966. Later that year Fleetwood
Records issued "Impossible Dream," a
recording that was originally a radio
special put together by radio station
WHDH and highlighted the Red Sox
incredible season of 1967, fishing one
game ahead of the Detroit Tigers. The
following year the Tigers won the AL
pennant and Fleetwood issued a record.

presents the Official 1968 Detroit
Tigers Album. Narrated by Ernie Harwell
& Ray Lane, "The Year of the Tiger
'68" tells the story of a team, and of a city that was touched by
baseballs great impact. The 1968
American League
champion Detroit Tigers. The front
cover artwork depicts a Detroit Tiger
player sliding into home plate, against
the Baltimore Orioles, who finished in
2nd place 12 games behind. The Back
features the Detroit Tigers team
picture. Inserted pictures Include;
broadcasters Ernie Harwell and Ray Lane,
owner and President John E. Fatzer,
Executive Vice-President General
Manager James A. Campbell, and Manager
Mayo Smith.
