Up until 1979 the date was not
included on New York Yankees Grandstand
& Bleacher tickets. Once you have
figured out the year of your ticket
using the
Grandstand Ticket Stub Dating Guide,
you will need to figure out the game
that the
ticket is attributed to. Correctly attributing the game
number on a ticket to the game played
will effect the value. A ticket stub
will increase in value due to a
significant event, or player milestone.
A hitting or pitching milestone by a
noted player such as a Home Run by Joe
DiMaggio or the first night game played
at Yankee Stadium will have added value.
This New York Yankees Home Schedule is
a list of home games to help attribute
the number on a ticket to the game(s)
played. In 1946 the Yankees were
scheduled to play 154 games. 77 Road
games, and 77 Home games. Tickets for
games that were rained out were voided. If the "Make Up Game" for the rain out was added to
another scheduled game to create a
double header, the ticket number of
that scheduled game was used for
admission to both games. If the rain
out game was made up on an off day, the
ticket issued for admission to that
game featured a Letter for the Game No.
NOTE: Tickets Game No. L,
and Game No. 16A, are
believed to be attributed to either a
make up game played on an off day (May
2) or a game that acceded seating
capacity. Game No. C1,
is believed to be attributed to a make up
double header played on an off day,
Aug. 21. Two Game No. C1 tickets stubs
were discovered with a program from
this unscheduled double header. Further research is
needed to attribute these tickets to
any of the 3 games.
