Since it's conception in 1917,
organized Knot Hole Gangs spread across
the country, formed by many
professional baseball teams. Boys that
signed up were issued either a
Knot Hole Gang membership card
-or-
membership pin
for admission to selected games.
During the mid-to-late 1980s, SuperAmerica a chain of gasoline stations
and convenience stores, sponsored the
Minnesota Twins Knothole Gang.
SuperAmerica was the "Official Outlet
for Knothole Gang tickets." In 1987
SuperAmerica sponsored 10 games when
young people 14 years and under get in
free when accompanies by an adult.
