Losing to the Kansas City Royals on September 15, 2017, the Cleveland Indians win streak came to an end at 22 straight games. It was given the title as the second longest winning streak in Major League history but this is wrong. It's the longest.

In 1916 the New York Giants won 12 games in a row. The win streak came to an end after the Giants played to a tie against the Pittsburgh Pirates. It was an official game, all the player stats counted, and were added to the record books. A Giants Win was not recorded. The Giants then went on to win 14 games in a row. They won 26 out of 27 official games. Not 26 Straight wins. Twenty six straight wins without a loss.
Cleveland Indians 22 wins in a row
Topps NOW™ one of the coolest baseball card gimmicks was introduced into the hobby in 2016. Topps Now celebrates the greatest moments in baseball as they happen. Each card is available for 24 hours only, and is offered exclusively on Topps.com. Limited to orders received, the print run quantities for each card are announced shortly after the 24-hour sales windows close.

Topps Now card #608 commemorates the Cleveland Indians winning streak. Dated September 14, the "22nd Straight Win Marks 2nd Longest in MLB History" card had a print run of 1,269. After the Indian loss to the Royals on September 15, Cleveland won an additional 5 games. More impressively the team won 27 of 28 games, a stretch matched only by the 1884 Providence Grays. 'Topps Now' issued card #637 titled "27 Wins Marks Most in a 28-Game Span Since 1884"

For the 3rd time in 4 years, since 1952, the Brooklyn Dodgers, and the New York Yankees faced off in the World Series. Of the Dodgers seven World Series setbacks, the last five had come at the hands of the Yankees. However, in 1955, the "Bums from Brooklyn" won a record Ten games in a Row to start the season, and then Da' Bums went on to beat the Yankees in the World Series. In celebration a Delft aluminum Bar Coaster was issued shortly after the Brooklyn Dodgers "Record Smashing" ten game winning streak to start their 1955 season.

In 1953 the New York Yankees became the first and only team in Major League history to win 5 consecutive World Series Championships. In 1954, after the Yankees won World Series titles in 1949, '50, '51, '52, 'and '53, Ballantine Ale & Beer commemorated this streak with an advertising plaque. These Signs were distributed to Bars and establishments that carried Ballantine beer. The plaque features a team photo of the 1953 World Champion New York Yankees.

Joe DiMaggio holds the Major League Baseball record with a hitting streak of 56 consecutive games in 1941 which began on May 15 and ended July 17. Ticket stubs to any of these games are highly sought after by collectors, and carry a premium. On July 2, 1941; Yankees home game No. 35, Joe DiMaggio extended his consecutive game hitting streak to 45 games, breaking Willie Keeler's long standing record of 44, set in 1897. Willie Keeler's record 45 consecutive game hitting streak started in his final game of the 1896 season, and continued through the first 44 games of the 1897 season.

On September 6, 1995, Baltimore Orioles shortstop Cal Ripken Jr. played in his 2,131st consecutive game, breaking Lou Gehrig’s unbreakable record for most consecutive games played. Cal's record-breaking streak of 2,632 consecutive games played, started on May 30, 1982 and would span over 21 years, ending in 2001. Coca-Cola celebrated Ripken's Record breaking streak of 2,131 consecutive games played and his 21 year career, by issuing a commemorative Coke bottle that came in a smartly designed canister.
