The Winfield brand developed into a
larger line of sporting goods that was
also sold by Woolco, a
subsidiary of the F. W.
Woolworth Company, which was founded in
1962. The
Winfield line of sporting goods carried
by Woolco included; tennis rackets &
balls, Soccer balls, bicycle
accessories, badminton, dartboard sets,
table tennis sets, binoculars, jump
ropes, boxing gloves, sports shoes,
baseball bats, and gloves. The Winfield
"Diamond Pro" line of baseball gloves
was introduced around 1975. The Woolco company
closed it's U.S. stores in 1983, while
