Beware ! A
Yankees Grandstand ticket
mistakenly dated by SGC and
attributed to Home Game No. 1,
opening day, April 17, 1951,
Mickey Mantle Debut, has
surfaced in the market. This
article will show without
dispute that the "Game No. F"
ticket stub was absolutely
printed in 1954, and cannot be
from 1951.The unique pricing on
the ticket because of a
newly-enacted admissions tax
cut alone, is conclusive proof
that the "Game No. F" ticket
cannot be mistaken for any
year, other than 1954. We can
stop here and keep it short,
but for argument sake ........Read

Who's Who in Baseball was
published annually by Baseball
Magazine starting in 1916. Long
time fans of the publication
are finding nothing but
disappointment trying to locate
the 2017 edition. The
newsstands are bare. Why after
100 years of continuous
publication would the decision
be made to discontinue
publication in 2017? "Is there

Rainout
|
|
|
|
July 4, 2016:
On July 4, 1939 the New York Yankees held
Lou Gehrig Appreciation Day at
Yankee Stadium.
Two years later on June 2, 1941
Lou Gehrig succumbed to
amyotrophic lateral sclerosis
at the age of 37. Special Lou
Gehrig Memorial Game tickets
were printed by the Yankees,
planning to honor Gehrig on the
anniversary of his speech, July
4, 1941, by placing a monument
in center field next to the
monument for Yankees manager
